
First day of Shandur polo tournament saw two matches decided. In the first match, Ghizer beat Laspur by 11 goals to 2. In the second match, Chitral D avenged it by beating Gilgit D by 14 goals to 2. Despite not being the best time due security implications, a large number of local spectators made their way to Shandur to witness the polo matches.
Second day of the Festival had two set of polo matches: In the morning Gilgit C beat Chitral C by 10 goals to 5 while in the evening match Chitral B thrashed Gilgit B by 18 goals to 2 setting a new score record at Shandoor. An exhibition match between Chitral and Gilgit officers team is underway at the time of reporting. Unlike previous years when many helicopters with VIPs would descend on Shandur, only one Army chopper is seen parked there and nobody knows who will be the chief guest on the final days match tomorrow. The final match is likely to be shown live on TV tomorrow.
